Our Story
Capital Roundup formed in 1979 to provide recovery-oriented services to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) recovering community of metropolitan Washington, DC. Until last year we have held an annual Capital Roundup Recovery Conference, where people in all walks of recovery could come together to learn and grow in a safe and joyous atmosphere. In addition, The Roundup sponsors workshops, fundraisers, and social events throughout the year.
Traditional Roundup Canceled
Alternatives and Future are Being Considered
Overall interest in the Capital Roundup conference has declined. We have determined that there is not adequate level of interest to continue with our traditional weekend-long conference. We are considering whether the organization should continue with a new direction or disband. All members of the Metro DC LGBT Recovery Commuminty are welcome to provide feedback via email or to attend our special planning meeting being held on Wednesday, February 8th at 7 PM in the basement of St. Mary's Church. It is located in Foggy Bottom at 728 23rd Street NW, Washington, DC.
Our Mission
It is the mission of Capital Roundup to make recovery easier, to educate the newcomer and old-timer alike, and provide a happy, joyous, and free environment for growth and fellowship. We hope you can join us, now, and throughout the coming years.
