Our Mission

It is the mission of The Capital Roundup to make recovery easier, to educate the newcomer and old-timer alike, and provide a happy, joyous, and free environment for growth and fellowship. We hope you can join us, now, and throughout the coming years.

Our Story

The Capital Roundup formed in 1979 to provide recovery-oriented services to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) recovering community of metropolitan Washington, DC. We have continually increased our outreach to people in recovery, and maintain cooperation with 12-step meetings and clubhouses in the area.

Every year, we are proud to convene the annual Capital Roundup Recovery Conference, where people in all walks of recovery can come together to learn and grow in a safe and joyous atmosphere. In addition, The Roundup sponsors workshops at different times of the year in support of the annual conference. The Roundup committee continues to increase the organization's presence by holding interesting and different fund raisers and social events during the year. In addition, we have make every effort to work closely with the Whitman-Walker Addiction Services (WWAS) program and the Triangle Club to better serve and support the community.

How to Help

The committee always welcomes new members and volunteers for special events. Anyone wishing to serve in this capacity should contact the Roundup.
